Abigail Green devotes her practice to high conflict divorce and custody cases. Abigail represents clients on all dockets in Jefferson Family Courts including circuit, dependency, neglect and abuse, paternity, and domestic violence dockets.

Abigail is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), a prestigious national organization whose members represent the most recognized family court attorneys across the country. The AAML was established in 1962 and its mission is to provide leadership that promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law. Abigail remains abreast of the most current family court issues, laws, and practices to provide her clients with the best advocacy possible.

In addition to her focus on private litigation, Abigail is regularly appointed in circuit cases as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) advocating for the best interest of children. She is also appointed as a Friend of the Court tasked with making recommendations on behalf of children.

Abigail began her litigation career as a staff attorney at the Louisville Metro Public Defender. As a staff attorney, she represented over a thousand adult and juvenile indigent defendants charged with felonies, misdemeanors, DUIs, traffic offenses, status offenses, and contempt of court. She has successfully represented clients in nearly every proceeding in Jefferson District, Circuit, and Family courts and has served as lead counsel in both jury and bench trials. Abigail’s extensive litigation knowledge and experience make her a formidable advocate.

A Louisville native, Abigail grew up in the Middletown area and attended Sacred Heart Academy where she earned her International Baccalaureate diploma. She graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She then returned to Louisville to obtain her Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.

Abigail is actively involved in the Louisville community. She spent years serving as an attorney appointed for abused and neglected children on the dependency, abuse, and neglect docket. She is a member of the Sacred Heart Academy Alumnae Board, an active member of St. Albert the Great, and serves as an attorney on her neighborhood city council. Previously, Abigail served as the chair and co-chair of the Louisville Bar Association Family Law section, as a Barrister member of the Louis D. Brandeis American Inn of Court, as co-chair of the Alumni Advisory Committee to the Kentucky Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi, and as conflict counsel for the Louisville Metro Public Defender.

Abigail is an avid reader and houseplant enthusiast. She resides in Louisville with her husband and son.
